This Pro Lens Adapter from Fotodiox enables the use of your Minolta MD lenses on Canon EF-mount DSLR cameras. It features a durable brass construction with stainless steel finish and a leaf spring ensures a secure connection between the lens and adapter. Additionally, through the use of a 1.4x multi-coated focus correction lens, this adapter is designed to maintain infinity focus. This correction lens can also be removed to render the adapter as an extension tube for macro shooting.

This adapter also incorporates a Dandelion Chip, which enables the use of EOS cameras' focus confirmation feature for easier focusing in difficult lighting conditions.

This manual adapter does not maintain automatic lens control between the camera and lens; aperture priority or manual shooting modes should be used, as well as stop-down metering for exposure control.
This adapter is compatible with most Canon EOS camera bodies, however it is not recommended for use with the EOS 5D Mark III.
The Dandelion Chip enables use of EOS DSLRs' focus confirmation feature, however it is not recommended for use with EOS film SLR cameras.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product The FotodioX lens adapters allows one to take their current DSLR camera and use them with their older manual focus lenses. In my case I have a Canon APS-C DSLR camera, and this adapter allows me to use all my old Rokkor-Minolta manual lenses! Altough it is stated that there is a magnification factor of 1.4X ( equating to a 100% magnification factor on an APS-C DSLR camera ), I haven't seen that much of a magnification and also there is no loss of f-stop. Photos are clear, and beat of all this little gem of an adapter allows me to utilize all the perfectly good lenses I had laying around collecting dust ! All of my prime lenses, wide angel and telephoto zooms are now being used again. And one can use either the manual or aperature priority modes with full light metering. A great product that I would recommend to a freind.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very soft image, get simple adapter I unfortunately returned this item due to the fact that the images produced on my Canon 6D were very soft compared to a Sony A7II with a simple adapter. I believe i can safely assume this was caused by the extra glass element in this adapter. Again, tnis is no fault of BandH, they're great as always, and maybe i did get a defective copy, but i decided to keep the simple adapter and use my beautiful Rokkor 58mm 1.2 on my A7ii which has awesome manual focus aids such as focus peaking/magnifier straight into the evf. Thank you still to BandH for great and expedient customer service.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Poor Exposure This is a high quality adapter that fits perfectly. I had no issues with my two Minolta lenses mounting to my 7d. The first unit I received had a bad dandelion chip and was over exposing by more than two stops. The unit I just received seems to be better but it's still over exposing. I haven't been able to program this chip either because I'm getting 00 for my aperture in the camera. I'd recommend not bothering for the chipped version and just rely on live view magnification to confirm focus.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just What I Wanted and Needed! This adapter is precision made and works perfectly, both in its fit to the camera body and various lenses. Like many photographers with some years and miles on them, I have an extensive collection of equipment for my totally manual 35mm camera. After learning about this adapter, I went and bought a DSLR body and can use all my old lenses in either a totally manual (my favorite) or aperture priority settings. TTL meter works fine. No need to break the bank on new lenses. I recommend this item and would buy it again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This adapter works I have these old lenses for my 35mm camera that I used to love using but now that I have a DSLR I can't use them. Right? I was leary about an adapter but I figured it was worth the money to find out if I could make those old Minolta lenses usefull again. This thing works. I'm using them now with my Canon 70D. My old macro lens is sharp as a tack and my old wide angle works great. You have to do a little work to get the exposure right but I knew that going in. Once you play with the adapter on your old lenses you'll figure it out. Make sure you know the old style lens mount so that you get the right adapter. I have 4 old lenses and because of this adapter two of those are now an everyday part of my arsenal. It works. Old Minolta lenses are now being used on my 70D. How much did I save by not buying new glass? This adapter works.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful product This was exactly what I needed. My old Minolta glass has been sitting around for years until I thought about getting this jewel and it works exactly like I hoped. The only thing I had any difficulty with was programming the chip, more because it's unusual than anything else. The only other thing of note is that my Canon looks a little silly with a Minolta lens on the end, but function trumps form.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great way to use a Minolta Lens on modern Canon Camera! I have three older Minolta lenses that are still in good shape. They take excellent pictures. I can now use them on my Canon T2i camera. You have to do some of the work manually to get it to work. But if you set the F-stop on the lens, the camera will adjust the proper shutter speed automatically. It will even show you the F-stop on the view finder in the camera. I also have one of these without the Dandelion Focus Confirmation Chip. It is a good item as well. The only difference is that you must focus yourself and it will not show the F-stop on the camera view window. This item is a great addition to my Canon Camera allowing to use some of my old lenses. I recommend it anyone who has an older Minolta Camera.
