LensCoat RainCoat 2 Overview

To protect your camera and telephoto lens from the elements, use the RainCoat 2 Standard Camera Cover (Forest Green Camo) from LensCoat. This product affords easy access to camera and lens controls while deflecting water, snow, salt spray, dust, sand, and dirt. Constructed from a lightweight waterproof and breathable poly tricot material with tape-sealed seams, this cover also features an integrated storage pocket and left side foldaway arm sleeve for easy access to lens controls and manual focus operation. This standard-sized RainCoat is designed for use with DSLR cameras with lenses ranging from 100mm to 400mm f/5.6 telephotos.

Cinch straps are incorporated into the front and rear of the cover for quick and easy installation that can be sized to fit your specific lens. The two side pockets both reveal foldaway arm sleeves for protected camera access. The rear of the cover allows for unrestricted access, and the bottom has a hook-and-loop fastened seam for attaching to a tripod. This product is made in the USA.

This classic forest green camouflage pattern is well-suited for general use in wooded areas.
Cover size is well-suited to DSLRs with standard-length telephoto lenses, ranging from 100mm lenses up to 400mm f/5.6 focal length lenses.
Lightweight, waterproof, and breathable poly tricot material with tape-sealed seams protects the lens and camera from rain, snow, salt spray, dirt, sand, and dust.
No-slip rubber is added to the front section to provide a solid grip on the lens hood without the use of a bungee cord.
Cinch straps adjust the total cover length by folding the material over itself and keeping the cover snug on variable sized lenses.
Two integrated side pockets reveal foldaway arm sleeves for easy access to camera and lens controls.
A hook-and-loop closure runs along the bottom of the cover to permit the use of a tripod or monopod, as well as manual focus control on the lens barrel.
The size and shape of the rear opening can be adjusted for greater protection or for easier control access. The design of the cover also does not require the use of a dedicated eyepiece.
A mesh storage pouch is included for packing the cover when not in use.
Compatible with optional LensCoats, Hoodie lens caps, and camera BodyGuards.

LensCoat RainCoat 2 Reviews

LensCoat RainCoat is THE go-to for your camera AND hands

I have tried other camera protection in rain/snow that always had some issues. But the LensCoat RainCoat not only protects my camera, it gives my hands/fingers added protection. My camera screen is easy to see versus others. The off-set hand access points make for better control of my zoom lens as well as shutter button, etc. Lastly the material is soft providing additional protection for my camera as well as excellent security from the elements. Recently used it in Coeur d'Alene, ID photographing bald eagles in rain, snow & nasty winds. Just buy it & stop looking.

Keeps your gear dry

I'm using with a Canon EOS 1DX and 70-200 and 300 mm lenses. It's perfect when shooting on a tripod. It works just as well when handholding. The two hand sleeves provide access to all controls while the back can be cinched up to protect the camera. The only negative is it's cumbersome with shorter lenses, but works in a pinch.

Great Cover for your investment

I'm rating this a 4 only because on this model I believe they could have positioned the hand access slots differently. Who knows it may just be me. So enough about that, this cover is great. I use it on my Canon 7D with a 100-400 lens or 70-200 lens. This cover with the additional lens cover protects my equipment from dust and moisture when I'm out. I looked at a couple other covers and nothing compares to the features this one has. Just buy it and quit worrying about your equipment when you have it out in the field.

Great Protection

I used this on my camera for ground level photography on the beach. It did a great job keeping the sand off my camera. I did not use the hand pockets as intended - only to manage my zoom. For the controls I push it back - it was not raining and I was not in the surf so no need to cover the body or back of the camera. If used that way, you really must know your camera buttons by touch.

Seems like it will be perfect.

Purchased to use in Alaska this summer at Lake Clark. All LensCoat products that I've purchased in the past have been 5 star and I'm sure this will be too. It fits perfectly and was simple to use when I gave it a test run.

I Now Relish the Rain

I used to fear taking my equipment out in the rain, but no more. With the LensCoat RainCoat I actually relish it! The LensCoat RainCoat provides complete protection to my camera and whichever lens I have on it. Outstanding quality, it's soft, easy to put on, easy to use in the rain, dries quickly, and stores nicely in a small, convenient pouch (provided with RainCoat). I found the video about the LensCoat RainCoat 2 on the LensCoat website to be helpful on how to put on and use the RainCoat. The front of the RainCoat fastens securely to the front of my lens hoods. For those zoom lenses that rotate as they zoom, the RainCoat will rotate as well because it is securely attached to the front of the lens/lens hood. No problem, the rotation isn't that great and it does not impair the performance of the RainCoat at all; just be aware that it will rotate. I shoot a lot of auto racing photography, and weather cannot be avoided. But the LensCoat RainCoat 2 has solved all my problems with wet weather. I believe it will solve yours, too. A really top quality, well engineered product.

I. Ought it because I saw it in used by another photographer under very heavy rain. The design covers my hands so I can change settings with dry hands and no part of my camera will get wet.

I own three of these each a different size they work so well. I have used them in pouring rain/snow in Alaska in the spring and if put on correctly they keep my gear as dry as can be expected. Easy to use, and put on the camera as well as operate your body and lens inside.
