The GigaPan EPIC Pro Robotic Camera Mount with Promote Control Kit from B&H combines the versatile robotic camera mount with an efficient remote camera control to enable highly effective automatic camera placement and exposure control. These two tools work together to provide a sound solution for creating HDR and focus-stacked imagery as well as multiple-frame stitched panoramic photographs.
The EPIC Pro is a controllable camera mount that allows for detailed programming of camera placements for recording numerous frames of scene that are later stitched together to create detailed panoramic or focus-stacked imagery. The mount supports a wide variety of DSLR cameras up to 10 lb in weight, and works on any tripod with a 1/4"-20 or 3/8"-16 thread. Camera placement adjustments and panoramic settings are visible on a rear backlit LCD monitor and a remote trigger port is integrated into the design to enable the seamless use of a remote trigger, such as the Promote Control.
The Promote Control is an advanced remote control for automating multiple exposure shooting processes. The control supports the creation of customizable time-lapse shooting, HDR imagery, and bracketed shooting techniques for up to 45 individual exposures. Additionally, it also supports programmable focus stacking sequences for gaining extensive depth of field and sharp focus throughout the entire image. Exposure adjustments and settings can be viewed and controlled using the backlit LCD monitor and a flexible user interface design. It requires two AA batteries for use or can be paired with an AC power source for extreme long exposure capabilities.
GigaPan EPIC Pro Robotic Camera Mount
The EPIC Pro Robotic Camera Mount from GigaPan is a unique camera mount that empowers most DSLR cameras with the ability to capture gigapixel (one billion pixels) panoramic images with phenomenally high resolution, depth and clarity. It will support camera and lens combinations weighing up to 10 lb (4.5kg), is easy to use and remarkably efficient.
Simply set the corners of the panorama you want to capture using the LCD interface.
The built-in software works out how many photos your camera will need to take, hundreds or even thousands. Then the EPIC Pro begins snapping the photos, automatically organizing them in overlapping rows and columns. After shooting, the GigaPan Stitch software (free download included) assembles, aligns and blends the individual images into one large panorama. The software then lets you to upload your panorama to GigaPan.com for sharing. You also can embed your uploaded panorama onto any website.
Also included is the EPIC Pro Camera Mount Vice/Clamp, which is an Arca-type compatible mount that permits side-to-side adjustment of your camera and lens. It is especially useful for cameras with an offset tripod mount and helps to deliver more consistent, accurate results. A robust and secure mounting system permits fast installation and removal of the camera from the EPIC Pro Robotic Mount.
GigaPan Stitch Software
The GigaPan EPIC Pro comes with a free download of fully integrated software - GigaPan Stitch. After shooting, upload the images onto your computer and into the GigaPan Stitch software which then aligns and blends your individual pictures together for an incredibly high resolution single panorama.
The EPIC Pro works with almost all DSLR cameras.
Large Lenses are Supported
Camera and lens combinations of up to 10 lb (4.5kg) can be used with the EPIC Pro.
Standard Tripod Connection
It is easy to secure EPIC Pro to your tripod. It fits standard tripods with 1/4" thread.
Share, store, and explore, by uploading your gigapixel panorama to GigaPan.com where the powerful technology of the GigaPan Viewer allows you to zoom in and out, seeing unbelievable detail.
Powered Camera Movements
Powered camera movements and simple adjustments for optimal positioning of the nodal point and varied camera/lens combinations are accomplished with precision. The pan-tilt movements for the EPIC Pro are 0.04°/step for tilts and 0.12°/step for pans. It allows 360° panoramic and -65° to +90° tilt ranges-of-motion with exact, incremental positioning.
Onboard Bubble Level
The built-in bubble level lets you adjust the position of the EPIC Pro for a perfect horizontal alignment.
A Start/Delay function enables a timer delay before each panorama capture begins. The timer can be set to 1, 15, 30, 60, 120, or 300 seconds. Not only does this provide time for the equipment to stop its vibrations, it gives you the option to include yourself in the panorama.
Multiple Triggering Option
A multiple triggering option allows the EPIC Pro to take multiple pictures at each image location up to 20 times per position for exposure bracketing or multiple image enhancements.
Rechargeable Battery Pack
A rechargeable battery pack (7.2V, 4300mAH) and charger are included. You can charge the battery on its own or while it is inserted into the EPIC Pro...very convenient for charging while shooting.
Electronic Trigger Cables are Included
Seven electronic trigger cables are provided when you purchase the EPIC Pro.
Remote Trigger Port
The EPIC Pro supports shutter actuation through the remote shutter port that is available on most DSLR cameras. A separate cable (not included) is required depending on camera make/model.
Multiple Triggering Option
The multiple triggering option allows the EPIC Pro to take multiple pictures at each image location up to 20 times per position for exposure bracketing or multiple image enhancement.
The EPIC Pro has features which include:
Time between exposures
Option to repeat last panorama
Pause and scroll
Order pictures as rows or columns
Navigate via LCD Screen
Access frequently-used functions with the touch of a button, such as to move the camera or set the shutter delay via its LCD display. The controllable backlit screen can be set to "On" or "Auto" for low-light conditions, or "Off" for daylight conditions to minimize battery drain.

The Promote Control from Promote Systems is an advanced remote control for digital SLR cameras that replaces other manufacturer's remote control devices. It allows the doors for your creativity to open with its superior automation and intuitive ease of use. The Promote provides flexibility for exposure bracketing commonly used to create HDR (High Dynamic Range) images which reveal stunning detail and tonal range.
One of the most useful features of the Promote Control is an advanced Time-Lapse mode normally found only in middle to high end professional DSLR cameras. With the Promote, time-lapse photography with any camera is supported including affordable entry level DSLRs.
This highly customizable device can be calibrated to match your personal preferences. Moreover, the device's firmware is upgradeable, so it will stay up-to-date with the latest functionality and enhanced capabilities of future camera models.
Replaces and extends manufacturer-specific remote controls
Promote Control can automatically put the camera into Bulb mode when performing bracketed exposures longer than 30 seconds The resulting images can be processed in a software application of choice to create a highly realistic image with a wide tonal range.
Some features are subject to be supported by the camera, and may require an optional shutter cable (not included)
It has an advanced easy-to-configure Time-Lapse mode with optional sequence start delay
The Promote Control can be programmed to perform a fully automatic, user-defined, delay for Mirror lock-up before every picture is taken. Locking the mirror before taking a picture gives a tripod-based camera the ultimate stability required to take a perfectly sharp photograph.
Promote Control has an improved user interface featuring flexible user-definable settings
A passive camera pre-focus and release functionality remains as a backup even when the remote control is out of power
A multi-tone audible feedback mode can be engaged on the Promote Control
The device uses large, easy-to-read liquid crystal display featuring a RGB backlight of variable intensity
The device has a weather-resistant design for water and dust resiliency
The Promote Control is powered by two AA batteries, the most easily obtainable power source
It has an external DC power jack for timing very long exposures for astrophotography and other similar applications
Device firmware updates can be applied from a personal computer via USB interface
The Promote Control is compatible with digital cameras supporting an industry standard PTP/MTP protocol for controlling camera functions over USB interface. Just a few supported cameras include, but are in no way limited to:
