    Impact BG-ACB reviews

9' Adjustable Background Crossbar (Silver) is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 25.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from makes it easy to hang stuff My small studio space quickly becomes crowded with 3-legged beasts when I use multiple boom stands to hang lights, fabric, plastic panels, paper lanterns, streamers, and beaded curtains in the scene. These expandable horizontal poles (I bought two) really simplify things, because I clamp them onto the uprights of my background stand and my light stands -- so I reduce the use of booms. The telescoping feature and >9-foot length are really nice, as they give me flexibility in hanging. The poles have a slight bow when extended to 9 feet -- but will nevertheless easliy handle a couple of Einstein lights or anything else I usually hang. And they are safer than boom poles, which easily tip over if you're not careful. Wish I had bought them sooner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works just as good as good! I was looking for an alternative to making my own crossbars for a 10foot green screen. It was a couple inches shy but not a huge deal. I had purchased the manfrotto version and winded up using it for something else instead. The end sockets on these are plastic and have a small plastic knob 1/4 20 threaded screw for locking in to the studs. I have used it for cardboard core backdrops and mounting heavy duty material. All in all in works good. Seems more flimsy than other brands but I kind of expect that when it's fully extended. I definitely would purchase another one in the future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from poor durabliity I bought two of these, after one use on location neither one will fully close or open anymore. They held up a thin lightweight cloth backdrop. I'm not sure if they just couldn't take the weight being extend out, and the tubes bent and are now jammed? They are still usable albeit at shorter that full length. One is stuck open so it reaches from the back of my suv past the armrest in front. I prefer this style of ends, that slides over the spigot and tightens down. Considering trying out the Manfrotto version of this (my Manfrotto stuff had lasted over a decade) or switching to a multipart screw type stand.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I won't get this brand crossbar again. This is the 2nd one of these I have bought that in a short period of time which got stuck and unusable on my location shoots. The twist mechanism meant to firm up the pole seems to twist no matter what. The diagrams they send with it are not helpful. They show a hand twisting the poles. And of course its stuck in a partially extended position so its not possible to send them back in the original packaging. Possibly user error but it was easy to get it stuck,.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Broke after a month of use. I have a photoflex backdrop and pick up one of these to be the second support for addition paper on the backdrop. It’s flimsy and it broke immediately due to the weight of the seamless savage paper. Don’t waste your time with this one unless your using portrait sized paper

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Got stuck immediately I ordered this item and the first time I tried to extend it, it got stuck in place and can not be retracted not matter how hard I try to twist the tubes in either direction - never even used it to hold up a background. Read a few other reviews that note similar issues - very poor design/build quality. B&H is refunding the purchase and I am ordering the manfrotto crossbar instead, hoping that one will be of a better build quality.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Plain junk Simple device, that looks and feels cheaply constructed. It did not retract back after extending it for the first time out of the box. Simply jammed shut. I believe others had similar experience. Either junk, or a bad batches. Will probably exchange and give it one more chance. For those who don't have time or money for the leap of faith, look for a better crossbar.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sturdy at full length. Works as it should. Very sturdy at full length. I hung a full weight canvas on it, no problem. Great quality for the price.
