Mount the gear on the zoom ring of your lens, then connect it to the zoom control knob of your AquaTech Delphin or Elite Sport Housing. Most professionals are not going to be throwing their pricey EF lenses out anytime soon. I am one of those people. A $100 adapter means I can use all my Canon L glass I spent 20 years investing into. While this zoom gear does fit my Canon 70-200, the knob on the housing doesn't make very good contact with the teeth of the gear. You can get full rotation, but it's intermittent. Meaning if I need to go quickly from 70-200, I can't. It might go to 85mm, then spin free, then grab and keep going.
