Lowepro Urban Reporter 250 Overview

The black Urban Reporter 250 from Lowepro is a camera messenger bag that holds a DSLR with an attached zoom lens, three extra lenses up to a 70-200 f/2.8, and accessories. It also accommodates a 13" laptop behind a padded divider in the main compartment. The messenger bag features a removable camera insert with seven detachable padded dividers creating eight sections inside the bag and a touch-fastened flap closure on the outside.

To access the bag's interior, there are two leather snap-buckles on the front flap that open to reveal a dual-zipper pouch and the main camera compartment. The dual-zipper pouch features an internal organizer and an internal zippered pocket at the front and at the back. The organizer consists of an open mesh pouch, an open slip pouch, a clear business card display, and a key clasp. To prevent items from falling out of the main compartment, there are fabric flaps sewn into the sides of the front flap.

This sleek bag is made of twilled polyester with a durable water repellent coating and features leather accents. On the exterior of the bag, there are two snap-buckled side cargo pockets for holding small accessories and an open back pocket with a zipper at the bottom. The zipper can be opened to use the pocket as a trolley strap for transporting your bag. You can also carry the bag using the adjustable shoulder strap with a comfort pad, or the removable padded grip handle.

question

Question 1 -- What is the material used for the bottom of the bag? Is it something water-proof? Does have any anti-wear material, or is it the same material used as the rest of the bag? Question 2 -- When the internal camera sleeve is taken out, is there any padding on the bottom of the bag? Or is it simply fabric only?Question 3 -- The main closures of the front flap is a button fastener, when opening the front flap, do the fasteners slide out with ease? Or does it require manipulation/guidance to have each faster slide out of the metal fastener?

The bottom is not waterproof, it sustains urban use. Its shoulder bag so I don't think its intended for being placed down to ground. I never use it that way. In my opinion its best when carried on shoulder while shooting. It provides one hand operability and allows you to move freely without leaving anything behind. If you want something to drop down to wet surfaces or leave there while shooting, this probably is not the best choice.

question

Can you put a Canon EOS 6D with Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L (with hood reversed) mounted on the camera, plus Canon EF 16-35mm f/4L IS (hood reversed) and Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L (hood reversed) on this bag?

If it is just these items, it will be a tight squeeze. If you need to add chargers and a few more accessories, I would recommend the Urban Reporter 350.

question

International shipping charges?
Asked by: Anonymous
You may calculate your actual shipping options/order totals by adding the items you want to a shopping cart. It will then list the shipping options, descriptions, ETA's and fees to your location.
