With a 2.5" form factor, the 750GB WD Black Mobile OEM Hard Drive from WD is designed to suit the needs of both creative professionals and gamers. Whether this drive is used in an all-in-one computer or a notebook users benefit from a SATA 6 Gb/s interface along with a 7200 rpm rotational speed for optimal performance. The WD Black mobile hard drive is designed for a variety of high performance applications from photo and video editing to gaming as it comes equipped with 16MB cache memory for faster load and data access times.

Maximum Performance
Performance enhancing features deliver the speed you need for demanding applications such as photo and video editing and Internet gaming.
No Compromises
High performance, high capacity, and high reliability
Dual Processor and Rock-Solid Mechanical Architecture
Twice the processing power to maximize performance
Dynamic Cache
WD's dynamic caching algorithm improves performance in real time by optimizing cache allocation between reads and writes. For example, if there is an overwhelming percentage of read traffic as opposed to write traffic, the drive automatically allocates more cache for read data, which reduces congestion and improves overall drive performance.
Available SATA 6 Gb/s Interface
The SATA 6 Gb/s interface provides backwards compatibility to legacy systems with SATA 3 Gb/s requirements.
NoTouch Ramp Load Technology
The recording head never touches the disk media ensuring significantly less wear to the recording head and media as well as better drive protection in transit.
Tested for Compatibility
Tests are performed on hundreds of systems and platforms in the FIT Lab to check that this drive will work in any system.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great harddrive for the price This is a great mechanical harddrive. I use it to supplement the SSD that runs my OS. It is mostly used as a storage drive on my laptop. I've had this harddrive for almost a month with absolutely no issues. It's not as fast or as quiet as my SSD, but it works really well. I can hear it spin up, but it's pretty quiet in general. Not sure why they capped this line of harddrives at 750GB. WD Black is the way to go for speed and size at a reasonable price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WD7500BPKX WD Black Mobile Hard Drive Great drive for the price. I always run extensive error and surface test on new hard drives and this one passed with out a hitch. B&H is about the only source I use to buy HDD and SSD's anymore. I have never had one of their drives arrive DOA, and that had become about a 1 in 3 occurrence with the other major online computer parts retailer that I was using.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I wanted a fast reliable hard drive I needed a fast reliable hard drive to replace the one that crashed when I knocked my laptop off a chair onto a cement floor. This one worked fine. Swapped out the old drive, installed the new one. Started reloading operating systems and files. I've been running on the new drive for a couple of weeks now and all is going okay.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good classic mechanical drive The read/write speeds are very good. Also, this is one of the few large 2.5 sata III 7200 RPM drives left on the market. The only downside is that the read/write latency is fairly high...even worse than a 6 year old 3.5 inch seagate I have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great drive I have two of these. One I have been using for over a year as an external back-up drive. The one just purchased is the main drive in my laptop. These drives travel a great deal and have performed perfectly so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Who can go wrong with a Western Digital Back Drive I purchased this WD Black Drive for my daughter's laptop. I have been using the WD Black Drives for a while now and they have never disappointed me. Simple plug in and format, install OS and everything is Great!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Still the best I work for an Apple service center, everyone here agrees that WD is still the best. If you don't want to go SSD this drive is a great choice, dropped in perfectly in my Macbook Pro.
