Icon Pro Audio Qcon Lite reviews

QCon Lite USB MIDI DAW Controller is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Cheap, does it's job. I wanted to get a single-fader solution. I've never had motorized faders so I didn't want to splurge if I didn't end up improving my work. The only strong contenders were this and the Presonus Faderport. Compared to the FaderPort, this thing is ugly. It's fader is only touch sensitive on the top, not the sides. It feels chinsy (though not as chinsy as it looks). The rotory knobs click loudly and are kinda slow (though their support is decent and they're trying to figure out why that is). It's also a bit bigger than I think it needs to be. All that said, going from no fader to one fader is kinda huge. I didn't expect it to feel so right, but it does. Even with the low rez fader, even with the slight shuddering from the motors, it makes a real difference. It basically worked out of the box for pro tools, though I have much to learn about HUI so some of the functions I don't quite understand yet. The navigation area is... not great, but usable. In fact, nothing about this device is that great, but it's all usable and cheap. In the end, I feel like I paid money for functionality, but it was delivered in a box that doesn't feel good. I've learned that I WANT real faders, and I want more of them. For now, I'm okay with this, because I know that one day Behringer will roll out their x-touch line!
