The Revo 15mm Counterweight for Shoulder Rigs provides 5.2 lb counterbalance to front-heavy shoulder rigs, reducing strain on your arms and allowing for more comfortable handling. It attaches to a pair of 15mm rods on the back of your rig using an included mounting plate and secures in place when you tighten a lever on top. The mounting plate is compatible with all 15mm rod systems spaced the industry-standard 60mm apart.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did job...for a week I bought this weight thinking it would be a good addition to my SLR cage. It worked well for a week until the thin piece of metal that attaches the heavy piece of metal to the 15mm rods turned into the consistency of pie crust. The weight is simply too heavy for the metal plate that it attaches to. I hope Revo reads this and develops a website so that customers can give them feedback. This item is poorly designed:

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Good- Not Bad This weight is good for a temporary budget-friendly solution; however, I find two major flaws in the design. The most troubling aspect is that the metal plate that you affix the weight to in order to slide onto 15mm rods is quite weak and will easily bend back and fourth. This will weaken the plate and break after a few weeks of use. If you are careful to not place any force against it then it may hold up. The second issue that I have is that the locking mechanism to tighten the plate to the rods simply doesn't work. The weight will literally slide right off the rods and hit the ground, even if you tighten it with pliers. This is easily fixed by roping rubber bands over the rods behind it. Due to the affordable price of this weight, it's a consideration that these things happen with cheaper weights. I'd certainly not consider it a long-term counter weight solution. If you really want a weight to hold up for years in the field, steer clear and spend $$more for the Zacuto. Otherwise it is a good weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wish I had one sooner Before I started using this counterweight, I had to support all the camera's weight with my hands, which made the footage shaky and long shoots very tiring. With the counterweight, I can rest my rig on my shoulder without any support from my hands, and I never tire. My shots are much smoother and my rig looks much cooler. It has two 1/4 mounting screws, so if you want to get creative and attach it to an articulating arm, you can... You can get long 1/4 screws and mount it to a cheese plate I find the 15mm mount works great though

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Heavy Metal This will fit nicely behind your cheese plate, but if your thinking about using it any configuration other then what is shown in the image forget about it. I had slightly odd wishes for mounting this thing (I wanted to hard mount it to my cheese plate and skip the rails. I tired attaching the plate in various ways to give me the options I wanted, I tried mounting the plate in various ways and basically it seams to have been perfectly engineered to not work in any other layout other then shown. The holes on the weight itself almost line up with my cheese plate but almost does not cut it. Basically I tried lots of things and everything was always close but no cigar, so if you just need a huge weight to hang on the back of rails on your rig and your rig is heavy like mine this will do the trick.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Blances my shoulder rig nicely 4 is about as high a rating as i can give to a brick. it does the job and the rod mounts are convenient.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Absolute pure rubbish The moment this thing arrived, I knew the metal, which is bent at a right angle, was going to break, but used it on a number of shoots anyway. Every single time I set it down it bent a little. I knew it was only a matter of time before it broke, and sure enough, a couple of days ago, it did. If you're going to cut corners that hard, Revo, at least don't use 3/32 thick powdered steel to do it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job I use this to balance the Revo Shoulder Rig for my Panasonic AG-AF100. It works quite well. I'm still getting used to operating with the whole contraption, but it smooths out moves quite a bit. I'm excited to expand my handheld work by using this.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Tightening knob lasted less than a month. The knob on top to tighten the product on to your 15mm rod system literally only lasted a couple of days worth of tightening. It already felt like it was partially stripped when I got the product and it was downhill from there. Would not recommend.
