Think Tank Photo TurnStyle 10 Overview

  • 1Description

The lightweight charcoal TurnStyle 10V1 Sling Camera Bag from Think Tank Photo is water-resistant and holds a DSLR with three lenses and accessories inside interior dividers within the main zippered camera compartment. It also accommodates a small 8" tablet in a dedicated padded zippered exterior pocket at the back of the bag. For holding accessories, there are assorted pockets throughout the sling.

The TurnStyle bag is convertible from a camera sling worn over your shoulder to a photo belt pack worn around your waist. For converting the bag, use the padded strap that detaches from one end via its slip-in clip. This clip can slide into one of two nylon webbed loops. When inserting the clip into the loop on the padded tab at the side, you can wear the bag like a belt pack around your waist. When placing the clip into the loop at the top, you transform your bag into a shoulder sling. The TurnStyle 10V1 can also be carried using a grip handle at the top.

Think Tank Photo TurnStyle 10 Reviews

TurnStyle 10 V1 Sling Camera Bag (Charcoal) is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 35.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very good first impression. I bought the TurnStyle 10 and 20. I immediately put a 5D Mkii with a 70-200 f/2.8. It fit tightly, but it fit. The hood mush be reversed, the entire thing is too long with it deployed. The 10 didn't come with the rain fly. I called B&H and they were very helpful as usual. In this case, they simply put me in contact with ThinkTank who quickly agreed to mail me one free of charge. The 10 also doesn't have a key attachment seen into the pocket like the 20 does. Mildly disappointing but livable. Both the 10 and the 20 are very comfortable to wear. The switch from backpack to belt takes some practice, and I'm still not very fast. Overall, I'm happy with my purchases.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just right for Photo Walks The Sling Bag 10 is perfect for a photo walk, especially when you do not want to be too obvious with a DSLR. I carry a Canon 6D with 24-105mm and lens cover attached. There is still some room for a small lens of accessories. Nothing protrudes since the camera fits flat in the bag. It just looks like a normal sling bag that you see everywhere. Quick access to the camera is another prime feature. You simply slide the bag around to your chest and you are ready to shoot. Well thought out bag for times when you do not need a lot of gear of do not need a large padded bag. The light weight padding is ideal.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not Made for a Woman First, the construction of this sling is outstanding. It was perfect for fitting my Nikon D810 and the few items I wanted to carry. There were however three things that I didn't like and I returned the sling. No.#1...the strap across the shoulder didn't sit correctly on my shoulder, but the padding is good. No. #2...The bag itself is a little long for a small person, which I am. So the bottom of the bag rested well below my hip line. No. #3...I couldn't adjust the strap enough to pull the bag off my hips without it cutting across the front of my body. The smaller bag, would not fit my camera body with lens, and the larger one would have been to much. Would I recommend this bag? You bet! It would be great for a larger woman but definitely for men.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is my #1 bag for travel I have tried a lot of bags over the years and none has worked as well for shooting while travelling. The sling feature makes it really easy to access my camera and lenses while walking without taking off the bag. It rotates to a waist level position for access to camera and while changing lenses. The 10 size works great for a micro four thirds system such as an OMD EM1 with 12-40 mm lens + hood attached, and two additional lenses like a 35-100 f 2.8 and a 7-14 f4. I have had this bag for two years and it is holding up extremely well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Quality This is a great bag. It is small, however, you can fit a DSLR and two lenses as long as they are not huge lenses. (I'm currently carrying my camera with a 17-50mm lens on, a 20mm wide angle lens and extra battery and memory cards). The front pocket is small but has two Velcro pockets along with a thin holder for a pen, I would guess. The back pocket is big enough for an ipad mini. But I think it would also come in handy for various items that you can't fit in the front pocket. Also, on the bottom of the bag is a small pocket that has a plastic cover in it. I've attached pictures of each pocket. Overall this is a solid bag that was built well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! This bag is small, light, comfortable, and fits way more gear than I ever expected when looking at its small profile. I carry a large M4/3 camera (em1) with 3 large lenses (for m4/3 standards... Leica 42.5 1.2, Oly 12-40 2.8, Oly 40-150) a lens extender, table tripod, sd cards, 5 batteries, charger, nexus 7, lens pen, and sone other stuff. Seriously, my mind was blow with how much fits. Also, it's quite well built and looks better in person than in pictures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Liking this Bag I shoot real estate video and take pics. The overall design and compact size allows me to quickly access lenses/attachments as I'm moving between shots. When setting up a tripod, the camera can be secured in the bag and then quickly retrieved. I carry a T3i, two lenses, a Rhode shotgun mic and a couple of other small pieces. For me, this bag is just big enough. Any more than that, and it would be too small. The quality of the material, zippers, etc are all very nice. And, it has a water-proof cover (it's either that or a shower cap) which was a nice surprise. I can't compare this to other slingbags, but so far I have no complaints - very happy with the bag!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convenient, Secure, Roomy bag for the Road Took my new bag on a hike and it's awesome. I was looking for something secure which would allow me to climb up and down rocks on a hike, with ease of access for my mirrorless equipments but lightweight enough so I can move about freely, and roomier enough to also fit in my regular size iPad air and a few other things while I'm on a trip. This slingbag can't be more perfect, I was able to take the camera out at moments notice by simply spinning the bag to the front. Putting it in as I ventured down and up the rocks and the bag stayed snuggly on me the entire time with no sign of loosening. It is also quite roomy since I have a mirrorless fuji, so it allows me to fit in a few lenses, and even though a full size iPad air with case will not fit in the iPad slot designed for it at the back, it fits perfectly in the large slot behind the camera (with my rather big leather case). And frankly, I feel that is a more reasonable slot for me as I don't plan on carrying large notebooks. Overall, definitely worth the investment! Can't wait to take it on more trips and adventures.

    question

How compressible is this bag if you want to put it in luggage for an extended trip and then fill it with some camera gear upon arrival for daily use. Then, I would not have to carry around my larger ThinkTank City Walker 20 with all my gear. I'm assuming the dividers are removable in this bag. If it is easily compressible, what's its thickness being compressed? Thanks.
    Asked by: Dan
Very compressible. Im not sure of the thickness once compressed-maybe 2 inches? As far as use I can put my D810 (no battery pack)with 17-35mm lens in it and carry another small lens-like a 50mm of 80mm. Cannot fit my D4. But it is great for walking around and hiking if you just want a minimal amount of gear.

    question

I want to use it with a D810 and a 24-70 attached, it will fit well? Also how compact it is, I want it to travel to Disney and take my camera with me to all attractions (at least the most of them), is this possible with this bag? Thanks!
    Asked by: Jorge C.
I shoot a Canon 5D II and with a 24-105mm attached fits nicely into th Turnstyle. You won't have much room for other equipment but that's not what it's for after all. If I'm going out with just camera and a few items, it works great. C.
