Rated 5 out of 5 by from Locking Lever magic I've had a couple of pan bars lose that specific-sized washer and the rubber retaining grommet. I've tried a DIY fix a few times but haven't made them work reliably. So if your pan-bar attaching clamp falls off, you need one of these. The very specific-sized washer centers the screw such that it rides the pan bar groove and won't fall off; the rubber keeper washer just keeps the washer from falling off. The thing really could have been better engineered but if you need the fix, this is the part - mine is a 502.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet! I love Manfrotto products! I bought this along with a few other components to replace what was worn from usage, the previous lever broke after a nasty fall against some rocks; which it has survived on numerous occassions (The previous lever actually survived a car crash even though the tripod was pitched out of the car) would replace any component from manfrotto in a heartbeat once I can find it!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a replacement First of all, it does work properly. It fits and it does what's intended to do but it is not the same size as the original on my 502h head. It is considerably longer and it does not have the spring mechanism to adjust it. So beware of those facts because it might mean headaches. In my case I have to force the camera in and out because the lever get in the way.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not what I thought would be Manfrotto quality This simple little thumb screw is an important part to a $(+-) tripod system that just doesn't have the durability to hold up to high school students. I'm talking about the good kids. They strip out far too easily. Yes, I teach them to not over tighten, but well, they're kids... I just think for that price, they could simply use some better parts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Locking lever for handle on 509HD head I stripped my previous lever and this was the exact replacement. This is for the rosette where the handle connects to the head...possibly other uses, but on the 509HD, it at least does that location. Hope this helps anyone else unsure of which lever to order, as I was at first.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Doesn't fit but grateful anyhow Great piece except that the screw is too long to fit as the original did

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Just what I needed The part i needed at a reasonable price.
