Cooler Master SGK-4020-GKCL1-US Overview

  • 1Description

The Quick Fire TK Gaming Keyboard from CM Storm is a high performance keyboard with a feature set aimed toward the dedicated gamer. Featuring mechanical blue Cherry MX switches, each keycap is made of ABS with grip/UV coating for durability. The keycaps can be removed and replaced (user supplied) if anything happens to them down the road, and a key puller is included for easy removal. Or, you can simply remove them to clean out any dust accumulation. Chief among its useful features is an N Key Rollover function, which allows each keystroke you press to be registered accurately.

The Quick Fire TK Gaming Keyboard features full LED backlighting, also in blue, which allows you to customize the look by choosing from three modes and five levels of brightness. This way you can easily see the keys even in dimly lit environments. For maximum stability, the keyboard has an embedded blue steel plate. Seven multimedia shortcuts provide one-touch access. This keyboard is also built for easy transport, since its USB cable is detachable. A groove on the underside allows you to route the cable so it will stay out of the way and keep your space tidy.

Cooler Master SGK-4020-GKCL1-US Reviews

Quick Fire TK Gaming Keyboard (Blue Switch, Blue LED) is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from I want to type all the time The TK was my first mechanical keyboard, and I don't know how I managed to survive this long without one. The typing experience on the TK is sublime. I actually carted it to and from work until I could get a second mech to use at home. I love the keycap feel and how little pressure it takes to register a keypress. I'm indifferent about the LEDs. I currently only have the arrow keys lit up, but they're very nice if you're looking for a backlit keyboard. The only downside is that the oils from your fingers will show up pretty easy after some use. It doesn't bother me, but if you like to keep your keyboard looking brand new that's something to consider.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good keyboard I'm switching from a wireless Logitech MX Duo keyboard. This is my first mechanical keyboard. The red keys allow quick typing, but quick errors. Not a bad thing, but I just need to get used to it. The keys feel good, and they are satisfying to type on. If only I could use the blue and brown switches back to back for a few weeks. I've had it about two weeks, and I am still adjusting to the number pad/d-pad hybrid keys. I would have preferred a true tenkeyless with an external numpad. For the money; however, it's a great keyboard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Keyboard First off, this is my first mechanical keyboard and I got the version with brown switches. I use the keyboard at work (I'm a software engineer) and so far I'm really enjoying it. The switches feel great and aren't too loud (no one has complained to me about the noise). The keyboard itself has a nice weight to it, feels well constructed and of a high quality. Unfortunately on MAC the NUM LOCK key doesn't work meaning the keys on the right side cannot be used as a numpad, however I find the arrow key functionality much more important, so if one of the 2 functions wasn't going to be useable, I'm glad it was the numpad variant. Other than that all of the other functionality seems to be functional on MAC (media controls, etc.). Overall it's a solid keyboard and I'm glad I have it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great keyboard! I love this keyboard. The Cherry MX Brown switches are exactly what I was hoping for, and the keyboard construction is superior to anything I've used before. The body is strong and rigid, and has some heft to it so it doesn't move around the desktop. The features such as the adjustable back-lit keys are great, and the smaller width is what I needed for my desk set-up. Two small dings: -The shorter keyboard means fewer dedicated keys for things like: -Arrow keys, therefore a numpad toggle is needed to use the arrows vs the #'s on the numpad. Coders might hate this if they use the numpad and arrows with their right hand often. -Media keys require a special toggle to override F-keys. If you need both frequently, obviously there will be toggling needed. Overall - killer keyboard!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Keyboard - for the price! Keyboard is mainly used for gaming - some work (medium typing). For gaming, the keyboard is EXCELLENT. The tactile feedback on the keys is just right, the backlight is incredibly useful, and the keys feel durable. No complaints whatsoever on that side of things. For typing, work and browsing - the combined keypad with the del/home buttons/etc is a a huge issue. I'm sure I'll get used to it after awhile, but I REALLY miss having a regular keyboard sometimes. I knew this coming in, and really wanted a budget-friendly mechanical - so I can't really fault for that. I'm deducting a star ONLY because for a mechanical keyboard, it's missing a few great features, which should be a standard at this point. Mainly being: USB passthrough, Audio outpit and better prop legs. I would recommend this keyboard to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Red Switches I bought this product as a portable keyboard for gaming and programming. I couldn't be happier with this keyboard, coming from a razer black widow with brown switches happy with the red switches. The red switches really are worth the purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great option for lan parties This is a tenkeyless mechanical keyboard, my first mechanical keyboard and I got say the Red Switched feel funny at first, but when you get used to it, its an awesome acessory for gaming. The Backlighting is nice, it has several modes and intensities. The only thing that is kind of a pro and a con at the same time(depending on what you want from it) is that it mixed the num pad with some keys(such as arrows, del, insert, etc). Which is great because it made it a very small keyboard, it can easily fit a small backpack. But it it takes some time to get used to it, if you use any of the keys I describbed above, or the arrow num pad too much, it may take you some time to get used to it, and I would probably go for a full sized keyboard, but otherwise, this is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Compact Keyboard Plug and play keyboard that does not require any kind of device software. Keyboard has a premium and solid feel with a good weight and build. Braided USB cable is nice. 10-key configuration takes some time to adjust to, but it is well worth it if you are looking for a compact keyboard that still has a 10-key. Red switches are clicky, but not particularly loud and are part of the appeal of a mechanical keyboard.
