Apple MPTL2LL/A Reviews

Smart Keyboard for 10.5- iPad Pro (US English) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 37.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have accessory for productivity I am new to using the ipad for productivity. ?I have had an ipad mini 2 for a while, but the 10.5 is the first one in the regular sized ipad venue. ?With the mini, I wouldn't be able to comfortably use it for productivity because of the size and my eyes are getting older. ?But the Ipad Pro 10.5 paired with the Smart Keyboard, I am finding that I use it more and more. ?Yes it is still a wonderful entertainment device, but it is now something that I can use for my office work with Numbers and the new keyboard. ?Yes you can get by with a bluetooth keyboard, but this smart keyboard from Apple is really the bees knees for convenience and ease of use. ?Really worth the price/

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Does the job If you do writing on your iPad other than email or messages, a keyboard will make the job easier. I bought this because it doesn't need separate charging — it's powered by the iPad. Unlike other users, I didn't notice any wobbling on a flat surface; it sits flat and sturdy on table tops, desks etc. Using it on your lap, though, isn't great. About the unfolding and refolding: you get the hang of it quickly. About the keys: I use a late 2016 MBP (15), and I got used quickly to the slightly smaller size fo the keyboard. In short: recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love it! OK, I think this is largely a matter of expectations going in. This keyboard does NOT feel like a regular keyboard and if you are expecting an Apple Magic keyboard experience, you're going to be disappointed. What this is is an crazy convenient tablet keyboard and stand that's always with you and finally good enough where you can take you iPad and use it as a laptop replacement for general computing without being reminded your using a aftermarket blue tooth keyboard the entire time. I really like it. It's slightly smaller than a normal keyboard but it's close enough that you get used to it quickly. That and the fact that you never have to charge it or pair it really makes it all work together. I wish it covered the back and had a place to store the Apple pencil (seems like big oversights) but I found a 15 dollar back cover that does both without adding much weight so I'm good. When I'm traveling or going somewhere where I need a computer to do pretty much anything but video editing, I prefer to take this and my iPad pro over my laptop which is a very pleasant surprise. If I was still a student, I would seriously consider this over a laptop (at least for school stuff) based on the weight and size alone (and ease of charging). They keyboard just doesn't feel like much of a compromise and the pencil allow you to take hand written notes as well. It's not cheap but altogether its a very good set up. The fact that it's more powerful than a lot of similar priced laptops is just a bonus. With that said, I still have a full size computer and would not be without it so we aren't that far along yet...but getting very close.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's a Cover, It's a Keyboard The keyboard for the 10.5 iPad Pro has the usual Apple quality - it uses strong magnets to act as both a cover and a keyboard that can be used on a flat surface or a lap. The typing experience is fairly good for such a flat product. I like that a textured material covers the entire keyboard, protecting it from spills and keeping dust and dirt out. Some of the keyboards I saw in reviews didn't lay completely flat, but mine does. The only downside is that Apple provides nothing to protect the back of the iPad. As much as this costs, it should be a complete case and not just a cover.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from OK I purchased the iPad for traveling to minimize weight. On a recent trip abroad, the iPad would repeatedly lose connection to the keyboard, requiring turning off and re-booting the iPad every time. It gets annoying quickly. When I called Apple tech support, the girl on the end of the line didn't know that Apple is selling a keyboard for the iPad...SERIOUSLY! Only after arguing with me for a while she went to her supervisor to find out that I was right. Really hard to believe, right?

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Works as expected I have owned iPads for years, but this is my first iPad Pro. I have never used a bluetooth keyboard, but thought with the bigger screen, increased power, and upcoming iOS 11, I may use this iPad for more than just entertainment. If that is true, I would need a keyboard. I didn't want a keyboard that I had to carry separately, and I am a big fan of keeping everything in the same ecosystem, so I opted for Apple's Smart Keyboard. I have used it a few days and love it. It is multi-functional, doesn't add much bulk, and performs seamlessly. The keyboard is nearly full sized and the typing doesn't require much to get used to it (I have a 2016 MacBook Pro with the new keyboard...that took longer to get used to). Overall, I find this to be a great product and do not regret my decision to purchase.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for those people who actually need it Pros: very high quality, good typing feel, useful for extended writing Cons: high price, no backlighting for keys, makes iPad more cumbersome if you only type short emails or fill in forms I use the iPad on-screen touch virtual keyboard for shorts spurts of writing, while I am holding the iPad in my other hand. This is quick and easy and does not add weight/bulk. For protection, I do not use the keyboard's style of wrap-around cover because that adds to the size and akwardness of the iPad when handheld. I have a sleeve cover instead. However, for more lengthy periods of typing, this keyboard is extremely useful. It is definitely preferable to a separate bluetooth kryboard that would be more bulky and less convenient to carry around. Bottom line: quality product if you need it, even without backlighting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Simple and Reliable My Apple keyboard works flawlessly.? The required key pressure is perfect and it is more comfortable to use that I expected for the small size.? The only missing feature that I would like is backlit keys.? Due to the laid back angle of the screen, the iPad does not put off enough light to see the keys in low-light situation like a notebook would. This is not so handy for dim cabins as you have to use the ready light and irritate other passengers on night flights.

This model works with the new iPad Air model, correct?
Asked by: David
I haven't tried it, but it's supposed to. I can't praise this keyboard enough. It's not quite as good as a regular keyboard, but it's pretty awesome and has a cool texture. I can honestly say I can type at full speed on it with no typos. It's also really light, and you can use it to prop up the iPad with a little bit of origami practice.
