ASUS PRIME Z370-A Reviews

Prime Z370-A LGA1151 ATX Motherboard is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful Motherboard This is a great motherboard. It works like a charm. I used the default BIOS settings and was up and running instantly. I installed a full 64GB of memory (G-Skill F4-2400C15Q-64GVR) and a i7-8700K. I also installed 2 Samsung SSD 860 Pro (256GB) drives. I used a Hyper 212 EVO CPU cooling fan. I used a Cooler Master N400 case with a EVGA Supernova 650 G3 power supply. This is the best computer I've ever owned. I am a photographer and use it for post production work. I am using the CPU's built in graphics. Everything in Photoshop is instantaneous. I use files upwards of 300 MB.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great board, easy to work with, but did not like the USB connector. Great board, easy to work with, but did not like the 20 pin USB connection point. Tight spot and the pins bend easily.Had to take all apart, file the connector cable, straighten pins and reasemble. Was cussing. Works great now.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from May require some tinkering, I wasn't as lucky as others Maybe I have these issues because I am utilizing much more of the slots/options on this MB than most people. At first I thought I had bad components and after days of troubleshooting I finally traced down a crashing/lockup issue to a bad IDE slot. It was the 3rd IDE slot away from the processor. I made sure to update Bios/drivers to latest and it did not matter. By this time I had so much effort invested in this build that it was too much of a hassle to return it. I still have an every-so-often crash that happens (not near as often as before) and I am hoping the new memory I ordered will correct it. I also find that the USB slots on the rear of the board are a little unpredictable. Sometimes on boot-up my wireless drops power and/or my keyboard. I have updated all drivers just in case it would make a difference. No luck yet, but I try to just reboot and it goes away usually. There are times that this same behavior kills my onboard video output too (HDMI). If you are getting this board, it will help to be fairly experienced with builds and problem solving. BTW, for the earlier reviewer saying the LED lights light up the room when opening computer case -- You can change/disable this in BIOS (=

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Board for Intel Gen 8 Only four stars because the board I received had a bad DIMM slot. The BIOS date was August 2017 so somehow I received an early revision. My replacement was good so other than that this is a good board for Intel I-7 Gen. 8 processors. There are two (2) nVME PCIe slots and if you run both at x4 lanes (set in BIOS) you'll loose two (2) Sata ports out of the Six (6) available. Not an issue for me but maybe for someone else. The 2nd nVME slot is located under the chipset heat sink and I'm not so sure that is a good thing. There are lots of 4-Pin fan headers and once you go through the BIOS settings (XMP Profile, etc.) everything works as advertised. I don't overclock so I can't speak to that but I am running at the ASUS optimized settings with no issues. The Intel i7-8700k runs hot with six (6) cores so you'll need a good cooler. I'm using a Corsair H80-i V2 with no issues. Check the ASUS QVL for memory compatibility (I'm using G-Skill) and you'll be good to go.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from check compatibility Mobo works great and is very easy for a first time overclocker / builder. 6 fan headers. Shipped with an old bios version sonic had to buy a cheap CPU to do the update to use my i5 9600k. Could have returned the board to Asus for free but didnt want to wait 2 weeks and pay shipping.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Board good amount of features for the price! Fully supported by windows 10. no need to install devicw drivers. The only thing i did not care for was the motherboard software that was not supported on windows 10. other than that, I though it was a very good deal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Board, Bad Sound Although the board itself its pretty good, the drivers for the soundcard are terrible, also when turned off, the power led remains on so if you have an open case like i do, it will light up your room.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's just what I needed I wanted a full size ATX card to handle an I7-8700k, GTX 1060 video card, and M.2 PCIe SSD, along with decent controls, and this board meets all my needs and expectations.? The BIOS setup lets you use a mouse, is easy to use, and you can set up profiles.? There's plenty of expansion room for a home PC.
