Profoto 900649 Overview

  • 1Description

The Profoto Grid and Filter Holder is the most versatile accessory for the Profoto Zoom Reflector. This grid holder accepts Profoto grids only. Its unique size aperture makes it incompatible with any other manufacturer's grids.

There is an air space between the filter and the reflector which prevents your gel filter from scorching.
Besides a Filter-Cassette, there is a diffusion filter included.
Other filters can be mounted between the light source and this accessory.

Grid and Filter Holder for Profoto Zoom Reflector is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect addition to the zoom reflector I had been considering the smaller reflector Profoto makes for 7 grids or even swapping to the new zoom reflectors that come ready to accept grids, but decided on the tried-and-true grid holder. I use grids a lot in my work. I like controlling the spill and having concentrated light on my subjects, and this addition to my kit does all of that and holds a gel to boot. That's what sent me to this grid holder. ' I picked up a Rosco Cinegel Sampler Kit and cut all my gels to slip right into the gel holder. Perfect! If you are a Profoto shooter, spend the money on this grid/gel holder, you won't be disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's Profoto The product does exactly what they say it will. Love their lights but their accessories cost way too much! But I have to much invested to turn to another company now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect As with any profoto addon, the price is high but its easy to easy and does exactly what you need it to do. It is a must have. I only wish you could buy pre cut gels

question

I have a set of d1 moonlights on the way and need to mount color correction gels. Does this mount directly to the flash head, or do I need another piece of kit?
Asked by: kyle
The gel and filter holder is made to attach to the zoom reflector. Unless your d1 kits include the zoom reflector (probably not) you will also need those.

Can I mount a softbox to this? If not what would be the best way to color gel the light for a softbox?
Asked by: rob
No, you can’t. Just cut your gel to cover your light, tape the cut out gel directly onto the light, and then mount the soft box over that.

question

What is the size of the gels is suitable for this filter holder?
Asked by: Michael D.
The Holder covers an 8 inch Zoom reflector so you would need something a little bigger that.
