Vello CB-460 Overview

  • 1Description

The Vello Triple Shoe V-Bracket (4.9" Wide) mounts onto a camera's accessory shoe in order to provide three additional accessory shoes for mounting lights, monitors, microphones, or other accessories. In addition to the shoe mount, a 1/4"-20 thread is also available for attaching the bracket to a tripod, rig, or other bracket featuring a 1/4"-20-threaded mount.

The bracket is constructed from rigid, yet lightweight single-piece aluminum alloy, and the mounting shoes are machined out of the same piece as the bracket, for additional strength. The accessory shoes also feature backstops for greater security when attaching accessories. The bottom shoe that attaches to the camera features a locking pin, which keeps the shoe in place and prevents the shoe from rotating during use.

4.9"-Wide Bracket
This V-Bracket's width spans 4.9" cm and has a tiered design for mounting up to three additional accessories.
Machined Aluminum Alloy
The bracket is machined out of one single piece of aluminum, which provides greater strength to the three shoes
Accessory Shoe and 1/4"-20 Socket Mounts
The bracket can attach directly to a camera via the accessory shoe or, additionally, it features a 1/4"-20 socket for attaching to threaded mounts such as a tripod.
Locking Pin
The bottom shoe that mounts on to the camera features a locking pin, which prevents the bracket from rotating.

Vello CB-460 Reviews

Triple Shoe V-Bracket (4.9- Wide) is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from works, but sharp edges and loose foot At first it seemed very sturdy and well made, but I noticed the edges were a bit sharp. I can see myself cutting/puncturing a finger if trying to remove an accessory in a hurry. Granted, it's an extruded piece of aluminum, but a bit of bead/sand blasting might have taken out the sharp edges. Also, the bottom foot is somewhat loose. It twists about 5 degrees in total, which may not sound like much, but I thought this had a more solid foot. I may have to put some JB Weld to make it stay put permanently in one position, then spray that section in black to match.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Gear! I am very happy with the performance of the V-Bracket. Great addition to lighting setup for product shots and I've even used it in some special portrait work. On camera - on a light weight tripod (especially for lighting product shots) - easy to setup/breakdown and gets the job done. I like it just as it is - but - it would be great if the outside arms were flexible to adjust the spacing between the two. As is, I use 2 mounted onto each other for even more options! Love the product. Would suggest it to a friend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does what it needs to do! Simple, sturdy and easy to use. I mounted it on my Sony HXR-NX70 and I have the ability to mount a wireless receiver, camera light and something else.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice product I couldn't fit my rode vidmic in the middle you need just a basic shock mount and shotgun mic to fit in the middle

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful and solid Good useful expansion from one on-camera accessory shoe to three. On a Sony HDR-FX1, I can mount a video light, Sennheiser wireless receiver and shock-mount with shotgun mic. On a Sony NEX-EA50, with the shotgun mic using the camera's mic mount, that currently leaves an available accessory shoe. The offset and height allow the on-camera LED lighting to provide good coverage with little blockage from the camera-mounted mic.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Holds a lot, but may shake I used this on my Panasonic GH4 to mount a shotgun Mic, LED Light, and Tascam DR40. Because all of the weight is secured from one single shoe on the camera, the rig introduced bobble even when on a tripod. It was affordable and held what I needed securely, but I am upgrading to a camera cage to allow me to mount a lot of items without the single point of contact that introduces the bobble.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 7D+shotgun+cam light+wireless receiver Solid construction. I use a 7D, soon to be a 6D with a Juicedlink mounted at the bottom now with a 200w Switronix TorchLED light which is a big light, wireless mic receiver, and Sennheiser ME66 mounted on the top. This small inexpensive piece allows me to be a one man army with documentaries, weddings or any other event coverage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Product. Does as advertised for a reasonable price. The only thing I would adjust is the spread of the V. It will not accommodate 3 Nikon sb910's (Not that I need it too, just might as well since it comes so close), and I would expect the same is true for other higher end flashes from equivalent manufacturers.

question

Can I use this product with sony a77 cameras? thank you
Asked by: Anonymous
You could use the Triple Shoe V-Bracket on the A77, though you would need a hot shoe adapter, such as one on the following link. http://bhpho.to/1iwPRob
