Hoya A-NXT58UV Overview

  • 1Description

The Hoya 58mm UV Haze NXT HMC Filter is a general use, clear filter that helps to absorb ultraviolet light and protect the front of your lens. Its clear design allows you to pair this filter with others or leave on lenses at all times as a general protective filter. It can also help to reduce dust and moisture and keep them from reaching your lens element while providing additional protection in case of drops or situations where scratching could occur.

Hoya HMC filters are multi-coated for reducing flare, ghosting, and reflections on the filter surface. As a result, over 97% light transmission is possible in order to maintain contrast and color fidelity. The UV NXT filters are constructed from high quality, heat-resistant, high-transparency optical glass and a precision milled low-profile aluminum frame.

Hoya A-NXT58UV Reviews

58mm UV Haze NXT HMC Filter is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 162.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does its job I shoot motorsports events and I like to use filters to protect my lens from any debris that may come my or the camera's way. I've never had any trouble with the cheaper filters, I decided to spring for this slightly more expensive filter. I can't say there's anything noticeably better about it, but there's definitely nothing wrong with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I use this on all of my lenses I have this filter on my Nikon 50 mm f1.8 lens. I bought this filter, primarily as protection for the lens, as whatever coordination gene I have causes me to put a finger on every lens I have. I would much rather clean finger prints off this filter rather than the objective glass on the lens. I do not notice any changes in photograph quality with or without the filter. To the credit of the coatings on the filter, it does not introduce reflections, or color shifts in images. I currently use the Hoya NXT UMC UV filter on all of my lenses.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Say It Don't Spray It Bought this UV Haze filter to protect the lens. It appears clear and without distortion as one would expect. However after opening the factory sealed plastic case it came in I was surprised to discover a couple 2 mm dried spots on the lens surface. I imagine the spots landed on the lens when someone tried to blow dust off with their breath before sealing the case. I used distilled water with a silk cloth to carefully remove the spots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Another great, quality Hoya product! I love these Hoya UV Haze NXT filters. They do the job, are low profile, have quality construction and threading, and do not significantly impact the light getting to my camera's sensor. I have purchased these for all my lenses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Typical Hoya Quality I don't always use a haze filter like this; primarily when I'm in an environment where I don't think I can protect the lens. This filter is high quality and works great. Good value too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Quality Filter Well-made filter, installs easily due to perfect threading. The optics appear distortion free. Hoya has an excellent reputation for optical glass. My purchase appears to be flawless.

Greetings,I have two questions. First is the filter compatible with all cameras of same size? Second are there any filters equal to this one?
Asked by: Anonymous
The Hoya 58mm UV Haze NXT HMC Filter would be compatible with all lenses that have 58mm filter threads. The 58mm UV Multi-Coated filters on the link below are the options that would also be compatible with lenses that have 58mm filter threads. http://bhpho.to/1rwLPlE

Not enough that you'll be able to notice, especially if you do even a minimal amount of post-processing in the software of your choice. A UV Haze filter supposedly improves color rendition by filtering haze, although I've found the "improvement" to be marginal compared to what I can achieve in post-processing. One of the touted benefits is to protect the front element of the lens. I put it on when I'm traveling and have a lens packed. If I'm using a lens hood, I take it off because the hood protects the front element and helps eliminate flare at the same time--something the filter cannot do.
