NAB 2018: Introducing the RØDE NT-SF1 Ambisonic Microphone

0Share

RØDE is already well-known and immensely popular for its line of mono and stereo microphones, lauded for commendable sound quality and workhorse reliability at surprisingly low prices. SoundField proudly owns the honor of inventing the ambisonic microphone. Merging its technologies and know-how, SoundField by RØDE introduces the NT-SF1 ambisonic microphone in NAB primetime. This broadcast-grade surround sound microphone offers 360-degree 3D audio capture without breaking the $1,000 line, making it appealing and ideal for use in VR, film, broadcast, television, and video-game production.

Configured in a tetrahedral array, four new 1/2" RØDE TF45C capsules deliver transparency, realism, and accurate imaging with ultra-low noise. The smooth and extended frequency response of each capsule allows the NT-SF1 to stay neutral and sonically colorless. Record its output in standard 4-channel, A-format protocol, then utilize the SoundField by RØDE plug-in (coming soon) to adjust, mix, and alter it subtly or drastically. Its sleek black finish ensures that it won’t be a visual distraction. Seeing that the NT-SF1 was designed and constructed at the RØDE facility, in Syndey, Australia, you can rely on its classic RØDE dependability day after day.
