At this year’s NAMM show, Nord is introducing a new line of its Electro-series stage pianos. Expanded memory, the ability to split and layer, and a live focused program section enable these emulations of classical electro-mechanical and acoustic instruments to be even more player friendly. The Nord Electro 5D 61- and 73-key versions sport a semi-weighted keybed utilizing organ-type keys with rounded "waterfall" tips, perfect for rapid organ and synthesizer licks, but also suited for playing piano sounds.
Announced for NAMM, Nord’s new A1 Analog Modeling Synthesizer strives to provide the sought-after warmth and grit of analog synthesis but, thanks to its digital architecture, not the functional limitations. Designed with simplifying complex synth routing in mind, the A1 has a pre-programmed modulation matrix and simplified ADR envelope sections.
In the following video, Rob Rives, from B&H, demonstrates the Nord Lead 4 49-Key Synthesizer and its redesigned multi-timbral sound engine. Rives discusses how it can be used to produce a variety of sounds including basses, pads, and leads while exploring its 4-part arpeggiator, DSP effects, and Virtual Analog and FM synthesis.
There are different kinds of cameras for different kinds of shooters (DSLRs for serious photographers, point-and-shoot cameras for snapshot takers, mirrorless camera systems for DSLR users on vacation, etc.), and similarly, there are many different kinds of musical keyboards, too.
