Tony Gale

Tony Gale is an award-winning portrait photographer. Raised in Bellingham, Washington, Gale spent most of his childhood exploring the woods behind his parents' house. At 19, after visiting Bruce Lee's grave in Seattle, Gale took his first-ever photo with a disposable camera. When it quickly broke, he decided to go all in and purchased an SLR. At 21, Gale moved to Seattle to pursue photography and later moved to New York City, in 2000.

Gale has taught photography classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology, Parsons the New School for Design, and the School of Visual Arts in New York. He has judged photo contests and has traveled the country leading workshops for American Photographic Artists. Gale is also a Manfrotto Ambassador, a Sony Associate Artisan of Imagery, an X-Rite Coloratti, and previously an APA national president. He has been featured in All the Photographers, Jasmine DeFoore's blog, the Agency Access Lab, the PhotoShelter Blog, and Whohub, among others.
