With many businesses shifting to remote work and collaboration, webcams have become some of the most vital pieces of technology you can have in your home or office. Among webcam manufacturers, arguably none is more celebrated than Logitech, which offers a webcam solution for just about every office and application. Here are some of its top offerings, all of which we fully recommend.
Logitech C920s
If you work in an office, chances are you’ve seen or interacted with the C920s HD Pro Webcam at some point. That's because the C920s is a conference-room staple, with countless businesses and institutions relying on it for their teleconferencing needs. Some of the reasons the C920s is so popular are its overall value (usually, the C920s runs less than $70), its sharp 1080p picture quality, and its 78-degree field of view, which is wide enough for larger conference rooms. We also like how easy it is to set up and use, so even if your current “conference room” is just a corner desk in your kitchen, you won't need any help from IT installing it.
Logitech 4K Pro
Logitech’s latest premium webcam, the 4K Pro, offers a better picture than the C920s, a larger field of view, more video features, and a better audio setup. It is a premium webcam, which can be yours for a premium price. Now, while it’s true that, among conventional webcams, the 4K Pro offers unbeatable image quality, this doesn’t mean it’s the right webcam for everyone. We recommend the 4K Pro for people who require the highest quality of 4K video and who need to look their absolute best regardless of lighting or the environment. We also recommend the 4K Pro for users who need the additional video-editing and control features, including visual and text effects you can add using the companion software. In short, the 4K Pro isn’t for everyone―but for those for who need the absolute best, this is it.
Logitech C310 HD
From the most expensive webcam on our list, we go to our most affordable, the Logitech C310 HD. Now, don’t make the mistake of conflating inexpensive with inefficient or subpar. The reality is that while the C310 HD delivers perfectly fine (albeit pedestrian) 720p HD resolution and not much else in terms of superficial frills or add-ons, it’s a great choice for people who just need something that works. For people who just want to communicate effectively, who don’t prize super high-def video or a wide field of view, the C310 HD is a nice option that won’t cost you an arm and a leg.
Logitech StreamCam Plus
Although it offers plenty of good all-around features such as the ability to record Full HD video at 60 fps, what sets the StreamCam Plus apart from the other webcams in Logitech’s catalogue are its features targeting content creators and streamers, including the ability to mount the camera in either landscape or portrait mode, depending on the platform. You’re not just paying for two additional shooting modes, either. The StreamCam Plus includes many of the video features you see in its more premium webcams, such as the 4K Pro. The StreamCam Plus is also arguably the most aesthetically pleasing webcam on our list, which makes sense considering its target audience. The bottom line is the StreamCam Plus won’t make you a better streamer per se, but it will provide you with the tools you need to create the content that you want with a webcam that looks pretty slick.
Logitech’s webcam lineup definitely doesn’t end there, but this sampling should, at the very least, give you some solid options—regardless of your needs or how you plan on using your new cam. From the high-end 4K Pro to the utilitarian and dependable C310 HD, there is a webcam here for everyone.
