Save money. That’s the goal of everyone, whether you’re running a small business, working for a huge corporation, or simply setting up your own home office. And while the world becomes increasingly more digital, where business can be conducted via emails, there will be certain instances in which a hard copy is required. Now, when you think of printers, you probably think of all the costs, such as paper and, most notably, those blasted ink cartridges. Fortunately, Epson has created its Supertank line of all-in-one printers. Instead of using ink cartridges, the Epson Supertank printers use refillable ink tanks, which save you the cost and hassle of having to replace ink cartridges.
Designed for small to medium businesses, the Epson WorkForce ET-16500 EcoTank All-in-One Inkjet Printer is the first wide-format model in the Supertank category. It can print up to 13 x 19" pages and has a maximum print resolution of 4800 x 1200 optimized dpi. It can also copy and scan up to 11 x 17" pages. The printer comes with enough included ink to print up to 10,500 black and 11,000 color pages, which is the equivalent of about 50 ink cartridges for a standard inkjet printer. That’s because the WorkForce uses EcoTank refillable ink tanks. The black, cyan, magenta, and yellow ink bottles fill up the ink tanks on your printer and can potentially hold you over for up to 2 years (may vary depending on usage). The WorkForce also features PrecisionCore 4-color drop-on-demand inkjet technology, which provides laser-quality black text. Along with a 500-sheet paper capacity and a rear feed for specialty paper, the WorkForce also supports automatic duplex printing and copying. While you can send print jobs from your computer or mobile device, there’s also a 4.3" color touchscreen for when you make your way over to the printer.
If you’re looking for a printer that’s more suited for a small business or a home office, the Epson Expression ET-3600 All-in-One Inkjet Printer might be a better fit. It also uses four refillable ink tanks, which can print up to 11,000 black and 8,500 color pages. The printer comes with black, cyan, magenta, and yellow ink bottles, which fill up your ink tanks and can potentially last for up 2 years, depending on usage. The Expression also features a 150-sheet paper capacity with automatic duplex printing. There is a 2.2" mono graphics LCD screen, and the printer’s compact footprint saves space in your home or small office.
While the refillable ink tanks are a great way to reduce costs, a printer for your business or home office isn’t much help if it’s not accessible. Fortunately, both printers employ Epson Connect, which allows you to print your photos and documents using your smartphone, tablet, or computer from anywhere you have Internet access. You can use Epson Email Print, Epson Remote Print, Epson Scan to Cloud, Epson iPrint iOS and Android apps, and the Epson Print and Scan app for Windows. The printers also support third-party options, such as Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, Android printing, Fire OS printing, and Mopria Print service. You can also use Wi-Fi Direct so you can print directly from your computer or mobile device without a wireless access point.
Printers have evolved over the years. Instead of just simply printing paper, they have additional functions to help maximize your workflow. Remember that the world is becoming increasingly digital? Well, both the Epson WorkForce and the Epson Expression can scan your documents so you can edit them on your computer, as well as send them as Word documents or PDFs in emails. If you just want more hard copies, you can use the copy function directly from the printer without having to go to your computer. The Epson WorkForce can scan, copy, and even fax with either a flatbed or automatic document feeder (ADF), both of which are designed to handle documents up to A3 size or 11.7 x 17". The Epson Expression can’t fax, but it can copy and scan up to 8.5 x 14", thanks to its integrated flatbed.
With the ability to print, scan, copy and, in the WorkForce’s case, fax, the Epson printers provide an all-in-one solution for your business or home office. You’ll be able to print remotely via Epson Connect. You’ll also save money because you don’t have to purchase those expensive ink cartridges—you’ll simply be able to refill the ink tanks on the Epson printers.
