E3 2018: Getting the Hat Trick in FIFA 19

0Share

While we were walking through the Sony booth, we were pulled into the FIFA 19 demo. Playing on PS4 and DualShock wireless controllers, we decided to team up against the AI since we were novice players. Jumping into a 10-minute match, we immediately noticed how tight the controls felt. Going for slide tackles quickly became one of our favorite things to do in the demo, but we became overzealous a few times and pulled a few yellow cards (and maybe one red card). Lobbing passes, hitting headers, and blasting shots on goal all felt great.

Switching between the players on the screen was especially helpful for us. Whether on offense or defense, the game will try to switch you to the player closest to the ball. We don't know to what difficulty level the AI was set, but we're going to guess it was quite hard because it was not an easy demo, albeit still a fun one.

FIFA 19 will be adding the UEFA Champions League to all the modes. While FIFA 19 won't be out until September 28, 2018, you can quench your thirst for soccer by playing FIFA 18, which now features a Free World Cup 2018 Russia update across all consoles. The update features FIFA World Cup, FIFA World Cup Kick-off, Custom FIFA World Cup Tournaments, and FIFA World Cup Ultimate Team. Authentic teams with official kits were added and you can play in the host country of Russia.
