Hands-On Review: ASUS ET2300

The ASUS ET2300INTI 23” All-in-One Desktop Computer fully embraces the Windows 8 operating system by integrated multi-touch gestures with keyboard and mouse navigation with its 23” capacitive touchscreen, capable of 10-point touch support. 10-point touch support means you can utilize the multi-touch gestures using all of your fingers. In order to optimize the touch screen, the ET2300 also features a unique double-hinge design that allows the display to fold flat into a 180° angle for easier access. The screen can also be raised up to 30°—an ideal angle for watching videos or viewing photos.

The system is powered by a quad-core Ivy Bridge Intel Core i5-3330 processor. It has 8GB of 1600 MHz DDR3 RAM, a 1TB 7200 rpm hard drive, a slot-loading SuperMulti DVD burner, a 3-in-1 media card reader, four USB 3.0 ports, two Thunderbolt ports, 10/100/1000 Mbps Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi, a full-sized wireless keyboard and a wireless mouse.

Windows 8 is the installed operating system. Windows 8 replaces the traditional Start menu with a redesigned Start screen. The Start screen features tiles that update in real time, which provide faster access to news, weather forecasts, sports scores, social network updates and more. Windows 8 also focuses more on cloud storage as well as apps, which can be downloaded from the Windows Store. Windows 8 provides a unique user experience.
