The ASUS Mixed Reality Headset allows you to utilize virtual reality fully in Windows Mixed Reality. With two external cameras located on the headset itself, you don't need additional sensors for six degrees of freedom (6DoF) tracking. Combined with the motion controllers, each with 32 LED lights, you'll be able to sync your virtual world and the real world with little to no latency and distortion.
With a futuristic design, the ASUS headset has a pattern of hundreds of 3D polygons and a glossy-on-tone effect. The visor also flips up so you can switch quickly between the real world and the virtual world without taking off the headset.
This ASUS headset is also lightweight, weighing less than 400 grams. It also has a special balanced-crown design that puts most of the weight on the forehead and the back of your skull instead of on your nose and face. Wearing a headset can sometimes get hot and sweaty, but ASUS used cool-touch fabrics and quick-drying materials on the headband to keep you cool. The headband also has anti-bacterial surfaces to reduce germs and bacteria, in case you want to share. Located on the back of the headband is an adjustable dial, so you can find a comfortable fit.
The headset features dual 2.89" LCD screens, each with a resolution of 1440 x 1440, for a total of 2880 x 1440. The screens also have a 90Hz refresh rate and provide a 95° field of view. While the headset is not wireless, it does come with a lengthy 13.1' (4 m) cable with USB 3.0 Type-A and an HDMI 2.0 connectors for easy setup.
Please note that a computer with the Windows 10 Fall Creator's Update is required. To find out if your current computer's specs meet the requirements for Windows Mixed Reality, please consult Microsoft's official website.
