MSI has announced a new series of MSI motherboards that supports 7th-generation Intel® processors and offers up to three M.2 slots. With an Intel 270-series chipset and LGA1151 socket on board, MSI provides you with the option of building a Windows system running either a Kaby Lake or Skylake Intel processor—allowing you to create a rig with the newest technologies or upgrade your current desktop while keeping your existing CPU. Other notable mentions built into most of these new boards include USB 3.1 ports with 10 Gb/s speeds and USB Type-C interfaces to make your life easier by transferring data twice as fast as USB 3.0 and offering easy connection experiences.
Starting with the B250- to Z270-series motherboards, MSI has outfitted all of its new motherboards with at least one M.2 slot, which can accommodate PCIe-based SSDs while eliminating the need for power and data cables. You can install up to three M.2 SSDs on the Z270 Xpower, Z270 Mpower, and Z270 Gaming M7 models—granting you the ability to enhance these drives with RAID capabilities! Moreover, there’s a built-in U.2 connector on these boards so your system can stay relevant when U.2 SSDs become more common.
