CES 2019: HP Unveils Spectre AMOLED Laptop and More

0Share

HP introduced a wide variety of products at CES 2019. From a laptop with an AMOLED display to a gaming machine with a blazing 240Hz refresh rate to a monitor with a built-in privacy screen, HP showcased many products for your game room, as well as the office.

HP Pavilion Displays

As its name suggests, the Pavilion 27 Quantum Dot monitor features a 27" Quantum Dot on Glass display, offering more than a billion viewable colors. As a refresher, Quantum Dot technology is the manipulation of micro-crystals that generate more than a billion color variations, which make videos and photos vibrant and lifelike. Also, Quantum Dot on Glass uses less energy than other display technologies. This monitor also has QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution and a 60 Hz refresh rate.

The Pavilion 27 FHD monitor has pretty standard Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 60 Hz refresh rate on a 27" display. However, it does offer other unique features, such as built-in Bang & Olufsen stereo speakers and a pop-up privacy webcam.

If you need a bigger monitor, HP also offers the Pavilion 32 QHD monitor. The 32" screen features QHD 2560 x 1440 resolution and a 60 Hz refresh rate. The VA panel offers wide viewing angles and AMD FreeSync technology works with AMD (and now NVIDIA) graphics cards to help reduce screen tearing.

Both the Pavilion 27 Quantum Dot and Pavilion 27 FHD are expected to be available in March, while the Pavilion 32 QHD will be out in June.

HP Elite Series

Do you have a lot of sensitive information on your screen at work? The EliteDisplay E243p Sure View monitor comes with an integrated privacy screen, which reduces visual light when the screen is viewed from the sides, making it appear dark and unreadable. The EliteDisplay features a 27" IPS display with Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate.

The EliteOne 800 AiO G5 desktop computer also has a built-in privacy screen. Using the same HP Sure View Gen3 technology found on the EliteDisplay, the EliteOne darkens the screen so anyone trying to peep at your 23.8" screen from the sides won't be able to see anything. The EliteOne can come with either integrated Intel® UHD Graphics 630 or a dedicated AMD Radeon RX 560 graphics card with 4GB of GDDR5 VRAM.

The EliteBook x360 830 G5 laptop brings x360 versatility to the traveling professional. Create, engage, share, and multitask with this portable laptop. Need that HP Sure View privacy screen on this laptop? It's available on its 13.3" IPS Full HD display.

Look for the EliteDisplay E243p in February, while the EliteOne 800 AiO G5 will be out in June and the EliteBook x360 830 G5 will be out in March.

OMEN Gaming Computers

Need even more frames per second? HP managed to boost the refresh rate of its latest OMEN 15 laptop to an insanely fast 240Hz refresh rate. Paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 20-series graphics card and optional Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) wireless connectivity, the OMEN 15 will provide you with enough power and performance to play your favorite fast-paced PC games.

The latest version of the OMEN Obelisk desktop computer goes into overdrive with up to 64GB of HyperX memory, an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics card, and a 9th Gen Intel© Core™ i9-9900K processor. Coupled with dual SSDs in RAID 0 and liquid cooling, the OMEN Obelisk is ready for any game you want to throw at it.

The OMEN 15 is slated for July, while the OMEN Obelisk will drop in March.

OMEN X Emperium 65 Big Format Gaming Display with OMEN X Emperium Soundbar

NVIDIA announced Big Format Gaming Displays (BFGDs) at last year's CES and they're finally here. The OMEN X Emperium 65 BFGD features a 65" Quantum Dot display with UHD 4K resolution and a fast 144Hz refresh rate. It also features NVIDIA's G-SYNC HDR technology to reduce screen tearing and stuttering. The BFGD also has 1,000 nits of peak brightness, meeting VESA Certified DisplayHDR standards. The display also covers 95% of the DCI-P3 color gamut for a wide range of vibrant, realistic colors.

The BFGD also comes with an OMEN X Emperium Soundbar. The soundbar is professionally tuned and provides immersive sound for gaming and entertainment. With 120W of power, LOFAR Low Frequency Array, VRT Vibration Reduction technology, and a three-way stereo crossover system, you won't need a separate subwoofer. The OMEN X Emperium with Soundbar is expected to arrive in February.

HP Spectre x360 15 Laptop

The Spectre x360 15 will feature an AMOLED display, powered by Samsung. OLED panels are known for their impressive contrast ratios, so expect deep black levels and vibrant color.

More details to come when the HP Spectre x360 15, with an AMOLED display, is expected to arrive in March.
