0Share

Announced at CES 2019 are WD's Black SN720 NVMe M.2 SSDs. These are available without a heatsink, in capacities of 250GB, 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB, as well as with a heatsink, in capacities of 500GB, 1TB, and 2TB. If you're engaging in more intensive workloads and are concerned about keeping your SSD cool, then definitely spring for the version with a heatsink. If you're more of a casual user, you should be fine without a heatsink.

WD Black drives have long been workhorses and are well suited for storing gaming libraries, large multimedia files that include photos and videos, and general applications. Giving WD Black drives an SSD upgrade will provide a welcome performance boost that will help speed things along faster than a traditional spinning hard drive can. Aside from differences in capacity, these drives all feature an M.2 form factor, a PCIe interface, and use the NVMe protocol.
