Everyday consumers typically have to choose between the ample storage space provided by a slow hard drive or the faster access time of a solid-state drive with limited storage. A computer equipped with an SSD will boot up instantaneously and launch apps in a snap; however, this drive technology normally provides 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB of space. To help eliminate the discrepancy between performance and data storage, Crucial has announced storage capacities of up to 2TB on its MX300 line of 2.5" and M.2 SSDs.
Having access to this large amount of storage will enable video content creators to edit 4K videos on the go, or professionals with vast amounts of data to educate clients without needing to retrieve content from online storage websites. With capacities up to 2TB, you also don’t have to uninstall a useful app to make room for another program or transfer a favorite show to an external drive for the newest episode.
The Crucial MX300 2.5" SSDs come in 1TB and 2TB capacities, and the Crucial MX300 M.2 SSDs are available in 275GB, 525GB, and 1TB. With two unique form factors, you can upgrade a standard-sized notebook or ultra-thin notebook by installing a drive with a 2.5" or M.2 design, respectively. The M.2 form factor resembles an over-sized desktop memory module and fits in an available 2280 M.2 slot. Both drive types interface with your system via SATA III and deliver 530 MB/s read speeds and up to 510 MB/s write speeds. Moreover, Crucial includes free downloadable software that transfers your data from an older drive to the MX 300.
