Introducing the Microsoft Surface Book 2

With the Surface Book 2, Microsoft improves on the power and performance of its predecessor, the Surface Book. With updated processors and graphics cards, the Surface Book 2 still maintains a portable design with a 360° hinge, so you can use it in four different modes, which are Studio, Laptop, View, and Tablet.

The Surface Book 2 features 8th-Gen Kaby Lake™ R Intel® Core™ i7 processors on almost all its models, except for one 13.5" model that comes with a 7th-Gen Kaby Lake Intel Core i5 processor. The updated CPUs help provide the performance you need without losing any of the portability.

Another notable upgrade is the graphics card. The Surface Book 2 comes with either a powerful NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 or 1060 graphics card. The added graphical power allows you to take full advantage of Windows Mixed Reality, which was introduced in the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. Windows Mixed Reality features an immersive virtual reality experience when you connect a compatible VR headset and controllers to the Surface Book 2. The dedicated graphics card also makes it viable for PC gaming, as well.

To showcase the power of the NVIDIA GeForce GTX graphics cards, the Surface Book 2 comes with either a 13.5" display with a 3000 x 2000 resolution or a 15" screen with a 3240 x 2160 resolution. Both displays utilize Microsoft’s PixelSense technology and feature support for multi-touch gestures, the Surface Pen, and the Surface Dial (both sold separately).

While the Surface Book 2 may be thin and portable, Microsoft didn’t skimp out on ports. In fact, you’ll have access to USB Type-A and USB Type-C ports as well as a full-size SD card reader, so you don’t have to worry about adapters and dongles.
