ISC West 2016 Roundup

0Share

When the exhibit hall opened in Las Vegas, at this year’s ISC West, attendees  gathered to see the latest surveillance and home automation tech from a range of industry leaders and innovators. As the Internet extends its considerable reach into our connected devices, we are excited to see how the next generation of products will work to make our lives more convenient and secure. We’ve been keeping a watchful eye on all the excitement and highlighted a few things that kept our gaze.

Axis P3707-PE Multi-Sensor and Dome Cameras

Keeping up-to-date with the most advanced technology in the surveillance field, Axis has announced an 8MP multi-sensor panoramic camera. The camera uses four varifocal lenses for a 360° panoramic view or a combination of overviews and zoomed-in views in four different directions. This multi-view functionality makes the camera ideal for monitoring public areas such as airport terminals, railway and metro stations, parking lots, shopping malls, and city squares. With individually configurable video streams for each sensor, the camera also features quad-view streaming for achieving 1080p resolution from every angle. Although the camera has the functionality of four individual devices, it is still accessible through one single IP address so that you will only require one VMS software license. Designed for use in both outdoor and indoor locations, this versatile multi-sensor camera will reduce the cost of your surveillance setup by providing you with four cameras in one.

Additionally, Axis recently released three new dome cameras, each one just 2.2 x 4.0", small enough to fit in the palm of your hand. These compact cameras are available in 1.3MP, 2MP, and 4MP resolutions, and they each feature a 30 fps maximum frame rate for video streaming in real time. Furthermore, you can digitally pan, tilt, and rotate the cameras, allowing you to make angle adjustments without having to access the devices physically. Wide dynamic range, backlight compensation, and white balance settings all enable you to use the cameras in varying light conditions, and the color, brightness, sharpness, and contrast options allow you to configure the cameras based on the environment in which you will be using them. The 2MP and 4MP cameras also feature HDMI output connections so that you can watch the video streams on an HDTV or high-definition monitor. The cameras are all housed in water-, dust-, and impact-resistant casings, preventing vandalism and erosion for use in a wide range of scenarios.

Arecont Vision SurroundVideo Omni G2

The Omni G2 Multi-Sensor Camera features an innovative design that offers ground-breaking situational awareness. The camera uses four sensors, each mounted on individual 3-axis gimbals, which can be placed in any orientation around a 360° magnetic track. This allows for numerous viewing angles, and the combination of four 114° fields of view can produce seamless 180°, 270°, and 360° views. Furthermore, 5MP resolution (2560 x 1920) per sensor means that the camera comes with a total of 20MP for high-definition video from every angle. This complex design does not diminish from the rest of the camera’s functionality, as it also features motion detection, privacy masking, flicker control, digital PTZ, and even a MoonLight Mode for extended exposure and noise cancellation. All in all, the Omni G2 Multi-Sensor Camera provides maximum viewing flexibility without compromising on quality, enabling you to reduce the number of cameras required to cover your desired field of view.
