Lexar Professional Workflow Series Storage Solutions

Lexar has long been a friend to photographers and videographers, providing specialists and professionals with fast, reliable storage solutions. From Flash drives to memory cards to full-sized archival media, Lexar knows that nothing interrupts a good shoot like faulty media, and the company strives to set the bar high for all of their storage products.

Lexar is now poised to deliver a series of media-storage solutions that take speed and data transfer one step further. The company is offering new CR2-model Thunderbolt-2-enabled products and storage drives, which will now be capable of delivering up to 20 Gb/s bi-directional speeds―almost four times faster than USB 3.0.

Take, for instance, the Lexar Workflow HR2. The Workflow HR2 is a four-bay card reader hub. You insert Lexar CR2 modules or any combination of select Lexar readers or storage drives into the enclosure, and instantly, you have a multi-bay data server configured with dual Thunderbolt 2 ports and a USB 3.0 port. The dual Thunderbolt 2 ports will let you use the device in a daisy chain of up to six devices, and is compatible in chains with original Thunderbolt products.

The Workflow HR2 is perfect for concurrent card reading or downloads. If you’re on a shoot and you have multiple cards that need to have images downloaded because a client is breathing down your neck and wants to see their pictures immediately, then this is the hub that can get that task done quickly and efficiently.

The Workflow CR2 modules are individual drives that fit into the HR2. Each can accommodate CFast 2.0 memory cards, and include a Thunderbolt and USB 3.0 interface. They also include a USB cable so that you can use the modules as a portable card reader while you’re on the go.

Also new from Lexar are the Workflow DD256 and DD512 storage drives that offer backup and archival solutions. Both drives offer high-capacity 256 or 512GB drives with blazing read speeds of 450 MB/s and write speeds of 245 MB/s, and they are fully compatible with any Workflow hub. You can check the capacity instantly via the LED indicators on the faceplate of each drive.

The individual drives include a USB cable, as well, so they are completely portable. You can use the drive as storage, and plug as many as four into a Workflow hub to back up and archive your video footage, photos, or whatever digital data you want to save and protect.

If you’re constantly on the move and don’t want to be hampered by repeated trips back to the studio to remove or archive your work, then Lexar has a solution for you.
