NAB 2017: Intel® Mini PC NUC Kits with 7th-Generation Intel® Processors

0Share

At NAB, Intel® demonstrated its Mini PC NUCs, outfitted with 7th-Gen Intel Core processors, which offer Intel 600-series Graphics technology for creating, editing, and sharing videos quickly. With 7th-Gen CPUs, this generation of NUCs supports Intel’s Optane Memory technology, which delivers SSD-like system speeds by utilizing an optional M.2 Intel Optane memory module along with a large-capacity hard drive, making them viable for broadcasting and sound-production environments. The NUCs come with either an Intel Core i7-7567U, an Intel Core i5-7260U, or an Intel Core i3-7100U processor and the capability to house an M.2 drive and 2.5" drive in the “H” version or a single M.2 drive in the “K” version.

Aside from performance and storage, these ultra-compact systems are armed with an integrated dual-array microphone in the front for supporting Cortana capabilities when you install the Windows 10 operating system. Other notable features offered are a multi-color LED ring—so it can beat with your audio equipment—as well as a Thunderbolt 3 port on the Core i7 and i5 kits. The Thunderbolt 3 port provides transfer speeds of up to 40 Gb/s and daisy-chaining with up to six Thunderbolt-equipped devices to expand the NUC’s capabilities with an external GPU, multi-bay RAID storage solution, 4K display, and more.
