Samsung Updates the EVO 850 SSD to 4TB

Capacity meets performance with the newly introduced 4TB version of the Samsung EVO 850 series solid-state drive. As with the smaller-capacity drives in this series, the 4TB version utilizes V-NAND technology, or vertical NAND technology, to literally stack cells on top of one another to expand the capacity and performance of the drive greatly without increasing the overall physical size. Another benefit of this innovative technology is enhanced power efficiency, with up to a 45% reduction in power consumption, when compared to standard NAND memory.

The large-capacity 4TB Samsung EVO 850 SSD comes equipped with a SATA 6 Gb/s interface while remaining compatible with both SATA 3 Gb/s and SATA 1.5 Gb/s interfaces. Once installed, you can expect sequential read speeds of up to 540 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 520 MB/s, allowing you to store your important files. The drive can also be used for a variety of computing tasks, such as decreasing the time it takes to load programs, to boot up your computer, and much more. In addition to enhanced drive performance and capacity, the Samsung EVO 850 SSD offers AES 256-bit hardware-based encryption to safeguard your files, and Dynamic Thermal Guard to protect the drive from temperature extremes.
