The PD2720U also features a 27" panel with In-Plane Switching (IPS) technology, wide viewing angles of 178°, an anti-glare panel coating, a 16:9 aspect ratio, 163 ppi, and a response time of 5 ms (GtG). Connect this display to your host system using its two HDMI 2.0 inputs, one DisplayPort 1.4 input, and two Thunderbolt™ 3 inputs that support DP alt mode for daisy-chaining multiple displays and data transfers. One of the Thunderbolt™ 3 ports supports device charging up to 65W, while the other provides up to 15W. Rounding out the connectivity options are two 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A outputs and one USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-B input. Thanks to dual integrated 2W speakers or the 3.5mm headphone, audio can be output from digital connections that carry both audio and video.

The BenQ PD2720U strikes a good balance between high resolution and form factor. It can be adjusted further for comfort with a vertical tilt of -5 to 20°, a left/right swivel of 30°, a clockwise/counterclockwise pivot of 90°, and a height adjustment of 5.91". If you’re a Mac or Windows user, this display checks off a lot of requirements for those engaging in color-critical work.

One item to note: the USB ports will only run at 10 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 2 speeds when the Thunderbolt™ 3 port is used for host connectivity. If DisplayPort or HDMI are used, the data transmission speeds will operate at 5 Gb/s USB 3.1 Gen 1.
