Going into the eclipse, I knew that I wanted to do a composite of all of the phases. I ran a timelapse of the solar eclipse on my GoPro to capture the path of the eclipse. I then used my Sony a7R II with the Sony 70-200 f/2.8 GM lens and a solar filter to photograph all of the phases of the eclipse up until totality. At initial totality, I quickly switched to my Sony 24-70 f/2.8 GM lens to capture the landscape shot to use as the background. Then I quickly switched back to the telephoto lens to capture a close shot of the totality to composite in with the rest of the phases. Once totality was over, I continued shooting the rest of the phases until it was complete. This was hands down the most amazing spectacle that I've had the opportunity to photograph thus far in my life. Totally unforgettable.
