We did not have much hope for autumn colors this year as the summer has been relatively dry. However, it rained a couple of weeks ago which brought some color to the foliage. Palisades Kepler Park has dense foliage flanking the river. It was a cloudy day and I decided to bracket the exposure with a handheld camera. I wanted to extract details in the fallen tree to which a couple of maple leaves are clinging, the soft ripples and reflections of the trees create an unobstructed middle and finally the dense colored foliage and the clouds in the distance frame the scene. The lines of the fallen tree almost delineate the boundary of reflection of the trees. To process the image, I created an HDR file in Lightroom CC Classic then processed the colors and details in Nik Software followed by some finishing touch in Photoshop.
