Living in Santa Cruz, I have the opportunity to visit Big Sur fairly often. However, on this visit, I was able to witness one of the best sunsets I've ever seen on the coast. The light was great, and the colors were amazing in person, but the RAW image on my camera didn't quite capture what I was able to see. My goal was to make the image more dramatic; I brought the photo into Lightroom and tried to bring out the colors some more, increase the contrast a bit, and then I used a radial filter to increase the flare from the sun. Once I was finished, I was much more pleased with my photo, and it remains one of my favorite photos that I've ever taken. Now it lives on my MacBook as my desktop background.
