While working on photographs for my book, "The West Virginia State Capitol Building" I noticed several boats, decorated for Christmas, steaming up the river toward the capitol. I raced to a location across the river from the building and set up to shoot. As I always do, the camera was mounted on a tripod so many images, which would align perfectly, could be made. As the boats came by spaced far apart so only one at a time came past the capitol, i shot many exposures of each one so I later could place each in a different spot on the final photograph. Several exposures of the building were then made, as the boats and the building needed different exposures to look their best. Processed all in Adobe Lightroom, and combined in Adobe Photoshop; a single image capturing the spirit of the evening was thus created!
