I captured this photo while on a trip through Romania, in the foothills of the Carpathian mountains. The sheepherder was in his late 80s, walking his 15 sheep and goats to pasture. He had done this every summer for the past 70 years as a professional sheepherder, and had no intention of retiring. It was rather inspiring to see the spirit of a nation thrive in contemporary times.
