The autumn colors mixed with the Halloween vibes inspired the bright yellow-orange and mellow purple tones. The idea behind the image is to encapsulate the image of spooky festivity, all while looking cute.
The image was shot at 1/250sec f4.2 85mm at ISO100. The lighting was bright after a light shower, thus low ISO and quicker shutter speed; this gave me space to create a greater depth of field. I shot this after the rain because my camera is not water-sealed! The purpose of incorporating the rain droplets, somewhat resembling ooze, is to add to the spooky mood. In post-production, I increased the contrast and purposefully left some regions in the dark without details. This method, along with bolsters the spookiness of the image. I also created a radial gradient that increased in darkness outside of the circle, which helps to bring the scary yet cute pumpkin into focus.
