When I am composing a photograph I have a vision in my mind that I know my camera, or in this case my phone, might not capture. In this particular image, I was enjoying the horizontal bands of vegetation that had subtle differences in shades and contrasted the vertical path leading to the fort. In the distance the bands of water/sky again repeat the horizontals with some subtle diagonal sun rays. I try to recreate the image in my mind as I am using the software not worried at all about manipulating the captured data to achieve that mental perception I want to present.
