This photograph is a replica of a tall ship which was shot while visiting Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. Multiple layers were used in PhotoShop to complete the scene. I titled it “Ghost Ship.”
The layered images were all shot at different locations. The images used were, 1. the seagulls in the sky, 2. a beautiful sunset in Mexico, 3. smoke I created by lighting a small fire in my studio and photographing it using a black background. I have since learned to create fog utilizing Photoshop instead of creating a fire hazard in my studio.
Finally, the boat was dropped out of the background and I reduced the opacity of the ship in Photoshop to create a ghost-like image.
