This photo was made during the Orionid meteor shower on Friday, 10/20/2017. I was trying to capture the Milky Way. I did have a flashlight and did some light painting of the trees and the meadow, but as I arrived that night after dark, I had no idea that the fall foliage was so colorful - nor that it was picked up by the camera's sensor. This was shot on a Nikon D750 with a 17-35mm f2.8 lens. Settings were 30 second exposure on a Manfrotto tripod with intermittent light painting with a standard LED flashlight across the meadow. This was post processed in Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop. The results speak for themselves!
