This photograph was taken in the BP's wind farm called Flat Ridge 2. Apposed by some, the each wind turbine stands 328 feet in the air producing 6 million kWh in a year – enough to supply 1,500 average EU households with electricity. Though some see them as an eye sore, I love them in the landscape of Kansas. Being a Kansas native, I believe we have some of the most extraordinary sunrises and sunsets that this world has to offer. Two years ago I made a vow to watch at least a sunrise or sunset a day. I found that this allowed me to step back and forget about the worries of my day-to-day life and appreciate the wonder of our little green marble flying through space. The variations of colors, dispersion of clouds and beams of light that are produced are life changing. That is the beauty of the sunset. Any one you witness is entirely unique.
