We traveled to Las Vegas and the Valley of Fire State Park was one of our stops. As luck turns out, the entire day was overcast. However, I turned lemons into lemonade by taking advantage of the soft shadows cast by the clouds.

Starting with the foreground, the colors were warmed up, saturated, and followed with increased contrast in Lightroom. The background sky was replaced in Photoshop with another photo I previously took of an amazing sunset. The result is a composite image which lives up to its name, "the valley of fire".
