The story behind this image is fairly simple. Inspired by the creamy smooth water I had seen in so many great landscape photographs, one day, I went out to create my own. I headed out to the Manhattan Beach Pier in California one evening and came home to astonishing results. I proceeded by bringing the image into Photoshop and making small edits. I brought the shadow beneath the pier up so you can see the detail in the wood, and I increased the vibrance of the overall image to help the already existing colors pop. Finally I made an overall adjustment to the exposure and some basic sharpening at the vanishing point and today, this image stands as one of my favorite I've ever taken.
