I was camping at the Hoh rainforest, and wanted to check out the famously moody beaches around La Push. With daylight waning I made the trip, and hiked down in to the beach, with only enough time to get a couple compositions. The clouds were perfect for a long exposure so I used a Lee Big Stopper for an exposure time of several minutes. I was standing in a tidepool and something kept biting my feet so I would run to the camera, hit the remote, run back to the beach and then back to the camera to stop the exposures. I wanted to capture the intense drama of the foreboding beauty that the Olympic Peninsula conveys/
