I took a series of photographs to create a single 360 degree panoramic shot, in an attempt to capture this breathtaking view. However, simply combining the composite images created a long, thin, and flat photo. So, I used the polar coordinates effect to reflect the curvature of the earth, infusing the image with the feeling of being on top of the globe (despite being at the polar bottom). The result helps the viewer grasp the perspective a little better, and really brings the whole image closer to the viewer.
