A transcendent sunset and sea stack reflected upon tidepools along the California coast.

This is an image I’ve been chasing for months, please view it on my website for the full image. After visualizing, planning, and researching the location for months, I found that for two short periods of time every year, the sun sets at the right angle to make this unique image possible.

After several attempts during the first period where the conditions didn’t align, I was given another chance during the second time period. All the conditions were optimal, the sun set at the right angle, the tide was just right to leave tide pools, it was clear off the coast (so I could get a sunstar), and a cloud deck just above that erupted in color.
